Curls Like Crazy Hair Studio is located on Tamiami Trail (US 41) about a half mile North of University Parkway. We're located in a large purple building called "The Atriums". When you pull in the the parking lot, please park in the rear. As you're walking into the Atriums, the hair studio will be on your right, in suite E9. The physical address is 8051 North Tamiami Trl, suite E9, Sarasota, Fl, 34243

What service do you recommend for first time clients?
The Cleanse and Style/Curl Transformation is a hydrating wash-and-go with personalized curl education and is a great option for first time clients. Your stylist will analyze your hair and suggest a regimen of techniques, products and services to optimize your hairs health based on your unique texture, lifestyle and hair goals. If you aren’t ready to commit to a haircut, the Cleanse and Style is the perfect first step. If you know you need a cut or you want to try a new shape, first time clients should book a Curly Cut. This hair cut is based on the Devacut and is customized for you, using the signature DevaCurl® dry cutting method. This includes the Cleanse and Style. We ask you to self identify as wavy (2a-2c), curly (3a-3b) or super curly/coily (3c-4c) so that we can time our appointments appropriately. If you aren’t sure what kind of curls you have, just send us a photo to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll help you book the appropriate appointment.
Would you recommend a treatment service for first time clients?
Our conditioning treatments are a great way to treat yourself and strengthen your curls. Perms and relaxers, keratin treatments, brazilian blowouts, extreme blonding, heat, and constant stretching can all cause permanent changes to the hairs structure and curl pattern. We have seen improvements in hair that was once limp, straight, or dehydrated. If your hair has been compromised or damaged, booking an add-on condtioning treatment at the time of your appointment is a perfect way to build strength, add moisture and shine. During your appointment, your stylist will analyze your hair and if need be can make changes with you to select the best treatment. Keep in mind, a one time treatment won't ever permanently alleviate hair health problems or replace cutting off the damage.
Following the regimen that your stylist recommends is crucial to healthy hair growth and retention.
Do you offer consultations?
Consultations are an essential step at the beginning of each scheduled service. The majority of services do not require a separately booked consultation as they are already included. If you have special concerns prior to booking about cost of your color service or the health of your hair, please book a separate hair consultation. Our receptionists can help you determine if a separate consultation is needed.
What is Pintura highlighting?
DevaCurl® signature Pintura highlighting involves sweeping on color or lightener (or both) to your individual curls to give you personalized dimension in your hair based on your unique texture. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Starting prices are a *base* price for color services. The quote for your color service will be determined at your consultation. Depending on what color service you are getting done and the density and texture of your hair, the price is subject to change. Please schedule a consultation if you have questions about pricing prior to your color appointment. Thank you so much for understanding.
Why do you cut curls dry?
Curls are naturally bouncy and stretchy. When you wet, comb through and straighten curls, it's impossible to know how much a curl will spring up as it dries. We cut without combs or using tension to let each curl express itself naturally. By leaving the curls dry we can see exactly where the curls falls naturally, the silhouette and length of the haircut as we shape it, and so can you.
How do I arrive for my appointment?
Please arrive with your hair freshly washed, detangled, dry with clarified hair in a simple wash and go style. Please note: Braids, buns, twist or braid outs, headbands, ponytails, updo styles, or any “stretched” style that will alter your curl pattern will prevent your stylist from giving you an accurate cut for your curl and may be cause for rescheduling your appointment. Detangling fees may be applied for excessive detangling. YouTube is a great resource for beginner “wash-and-go” tutorials. If you still have concerns on how to wear your hair curly and/or need help with detangling or undoing braids, please contact us prior to your appointment so we can help you prepare.
I use lots of oils and butters in my hair. How can I best prepare my hair for my appointment?
We recommend that you begin detoxing your hair at least 2 weeks before your appointment day with us if you are using any of the following product lines in your hair or any products with super heavy oils, butters, or silicones in them: Shea Moisture, Aussie, Cantu, Wen, Ecostyler, any pure or concentrated oils or butters. Detoxing will help you achieve the best results for your dry cut with us. The DevaCurl® Build Up Buster is great for detoxing your hair.

Do you do any other styles besides a wash and go?
Tami is a curly stylist a heart, specializing in deva cuts and pintura highlights on all textures. However, we offer other styles as well. We offer blowouts, twist outs, silk press, updos or loc services. PLEASE NOTE! If you are a client who gets a curly cut/DevaCut, you do NOT qualify for a blowout or a silk press.
Do you offer chemical services to make your client’s hair curly or straight?
As we are a naturally textured based studio, we do not perform any chemical texture processes (relaxers, perms, keratin treatments, etc) that compromise the health of our client’s hair. Thank you for understanding.
I wear my hair straight some of the time. Is a dry curly cut right for me?
As a curly hair specialists, Tami advises clients to fully commit to healthy hair and the curly world. Blowing out your hair isn’t worth the heat damage it creates for your beautiful curls. Unless, of course you prefer you hair stretched the majority of the time. Heat styling can compromises the health of your hair by over manipulating & dehydrating your curls. If you wear your hair curly most of the time, a dry curly cut will help give your curls a beautiful shape and amplify your natural texture. Some clients may find differences in length due to varying shrinkage and curl patterns on their head. Most of our clients that occasionally stretch their curls feel their Devacuts translate for straightened styles, however keep in mind that the Devacut is a cut to amplify curls.
Are your prices the same for short curly hair as they are for longer curly hair?
Yes, the prices are the same no matter the hair length with the exception of a full clipper cut.
How do I book my appointment?

Credit card information will be required to hold all appointments when booking online or over the phone starting 1/1/19. Tami may book up several weeks in advance. Please call the salon or check online for last minute availability. Pre-booking is recommended to ensure we can accommodate you. Thank you for your understanding.
What is your availability?
We are closed on Mondays and Sundays. We encourage you to connect with us on instagram as we may announce last minute openings on Instagram as they occur.
If you are unable to book a service with your preferred time through our online booking, it is because there is not time enough available for the service you have requested. We encourage all of our guests to pre-book for future appointments at check-out to ensure booking their optimal appointment time and maintenance on their hair. Please contact the salon directly to be placed on the waitlist after booking a future appointment if you would like to get in sooner, or if you see last minute availability. We appreciate your understanding.
I tried to book an appointment/contact the salon through sending a direct message (DM) on Instagram, but I did not get a response.
ALL appointment bookings are handled through the online booking system Vagaro or by phone (during business hours). All other business inquiries are handled through email at email@example.com or you may always call the salon with questions. Thank you for your understanding.
I tried to book an appointment online, but I did not see any availability?
The appointment time requested has been filled and is no longer available. Vagaro will suggest the next available appointment. Please book a later appointment and call the salon to request being put on a waitlist or cancellation list. We will reach out first to clients that have future appointments booked. I’m trying to book online for a service but it isn’t allowing me to, even though it says there’s a slot available?
The online booking scheduler allows booking depending on how long the service will be. If it is not allowing you to book, please choose another day and/or time.
I thought I booked an appointment online, but I did not receive a confirmation text or email?
If you DO NOT receive a confirmation, there is NO APPOINTMENT booked for you. Please complete the booking online or call the salon. We hope to see you soon!
